The space in between is often a space where we encounter challenge.

The edge is where we find ourselves confronting our moments of greatest challenge. It is often where we feel like we’ve lost control and where we find our old ways of responding no longer work. Yet, at the edge, the temptation is to step back into these old limited ways of responding because they feel safe.
When we find ourselves at the edge like this often what we are confronted with is literally developmental thresholds. And these thresholds typically consist of a series of initiating events that represent tipping points that mark a transition or significant turning point in our lives. The challenges and setbacks we encounter are in fact opportunities for growth, for lifting our capacity to the next level, for becoming more of who we truly are at our core.
