Welcome to the earthly, grounded, primal, raw aspect of ourselves where our basic needs of food, water, and shelter are paramount. This is one of the most important chakras and we need to ensure that it is strong and healthy, as it supports the health of the chakras above it.
Awakening our base chakra awakens us to our inner wild, primal nature, that part of us that cannot be tamed, that is raw and real. Deemed socially unacceptable it is part of the self that is often unclaimed, hidden, disowned or pushed deep into our unconscious. Given that these aspects of ourselves are often unclaimed or denied working on this charka can be confronting for many of us. Nevertheless this part of ourselves forms our energetic foundation that everything else is built on so ensuring the health of the base chakra is vital.
How do you feel about revealing this part of yourself, this raw, unpolished, unrefined self? In many ways this is the real you. And so the question becomes - how do you feel about revealing the real you?
The base chakra is like the roots of a tree in our energetic system, it must be robust and deep in order to support our bodies and any energetic work we do in the upper 3 chakras. Our tribal beliefs live here as well, the beliefs that we have absorbed through our tribe (our family, religion, schooling etc.) that define who we are and how we relate to the world around us.
The function of the base chakra as our energetic foundation is about building a structure that supports and sustains our life. If our structures are not stable enough to support us, we may become unsure about our right to what we want and feel secure, then losing energy, and fearing for our existence. Eventually we may end up wondering whether we can go on, and continue to sustain our efforts and persist.
The qualities and life issues the base chakra is concerned with include: cultivating a deep sense of inner security; anchoring our spirit in reality, finding trust in places of despair so we can persevere, building a structure that supports and sustains our life, and ultimately it is concerned with having the patience to see our dreams come true.
Let’s check out how this chakra might be sitting for you?
Tune in and note your answers to these questions:
· Do I feel truly supported in all areas of my life and why?
· Do I feel I can stand on my own two feet and why?
· Do I escape my body? Why? How?
· Am I in touch with my wild instinctual self, why?
